Obituary

Bonifacio Pando Gonzalez, 82, of Hale Center, died Friday, June 26, 2020, in Hale Center. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 29, 2020, at Hale Center Cemetery with Rev. Noe Gonzales officiating and under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, June 27, and from 12:00 to 7:00 PM, Sunday, June 28.

Bonifacio was born May 14, 1938, in Branco Azul, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Pedro and Buenaventura (Pando) Gonzalez. On March 29, 1964, Bonifacio married Maria Franco. A lifetime area resident, Bonifacio moved to Hale Center in 1972. He was a farmer and thoroughly enjoyed working the farm and being outdoors. He also enjoyed fishing and working on motors. Church was especially important to Bonifacio. He was a songwriter and loved singing songs that Jesus gave him in his dreams. A very special man, husband, father, and grandfather, Bonifacio will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Heriberto and Raul Gonzalez, a daughter, Ester Trevino, a granddaughter, Destinie Gonzalez, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Gonzalez of Hale Center, three sons, Ramon Gonzalez and his wife Diana of Lubbock, Noe Gonzales and his wife Maribel of Tulia, and Jesus Gonzalez and his wife Gloria of Hale Center, a daughter, Eva Salas and her husband Rudy of Hale Center, two brothers, and five sisters. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
