Obituary
Larry S. Williams, 84, of Plainview, passed away on April 16, 2022. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Bartley Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery.
Larry was born on December 17, 1937, in Alamosa Colorado. Upon leaving high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and was a Machinest Mate. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he then continued in the Navy Reserves until 1962.
Larry’s life started when he met the love of his life, Donna Kislo, at an Elvis concert in Seattle, Washington. Six weeks later they married on October 21, 1957 in Seattle. They shared 64 ½ beautiful years together and raised five children. They relocated to Plainview in 1960. Larry was a building contractor for most of his working career. He enjoyed making wooden toy train and cars for his grandchildren and would build anything Donna wanted. Larry loved visiting with others and being around family and friends.
Larry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandpa.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Donna Williams of Plainview, his sons; Larry Williams Jr. of Plainview, Dale Williams and wife, Roxanne, of Plainview, and Michael Williams and wife, Brissy, of Amarillo, his daughters; Lynny Douglas of Plainview and Elizabeth Strate and husband, Scott, of Amarillo. Larry was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter; Rachel Sydney Davis Fite, a grandson; Dillon Criswell, and a daughter-in-law; Shelley Williams.
