Obituary

Mary Lou Martinez and Dina Castro, 52 and 23, departed this earthly world and entered heaven’s gates on December 22, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Bartley Memorial Chapel. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Bartley Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.

Mary was born on November 23, 1969, to Matilde Martinez in Lockney, Texas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister companion, aunt, and friend. Mary was a hardworking mother who always made sure her family got what they needed and would always go out of her way for others. She enjoyed cooking and made sure that nobody left hungry. She loved shopping and going on adventures. She will be deeply missed.

Dina was born on June 17, 1998, to Mary Martinez and Jesus Castro in Plainview, TX where she grew up. She attended Plainview ISD and graduated from Plainview High School. Dina was extremely artistic. She loved to draw, write, and cook. She was also adventurous and wanted to travel, experience the world, and try new things. Dina loved her family and loved spending time with them. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Those left to cherish Mary’s memories is her mother; Matilde Martinez of Garland, TX, her daughters; Jessica Brown and husband, Peter, of Chandler, AZ and Yesenia McWilliams and husband, Matthew, of Childress, TX, brothers; Andy Martinez and wife, Sandy, of Garland, TX, and Ray Martinez and wife, Korina, of Plainview, TX, a sister; Hopie Chapa. Mary was blessed with four grandchildren; Ruben Castro, Melody Reyes, Jason McWilliams, and Selena McWilliams.

Those left to cherish Dina’s memories is her children; Ruben Castro of Plainview, TX and Melody Reyes of Plainview, TX, her sisters; Jessica Brown and husband, Peter, of Chandler, TX and Yesenia McWilliams and husband, Matthew, of Childress, TX
