Obituary
David Butler, 64, of Plainview, passed on December 14, 2021. No services are scheduled at this time.
David was an awe-inspiring, God fearing man, father, husband, son, brother, and friend to many. The life he lived was noble, his every action and interaction was thoughtful, kind, and worthy of praise. Loving others, and especially helping others, was engrained in the cloth of his soul, he’d offer a stranger the shirt from his back without hesitation. His life was marked by his humble kindness, grit, consistency, love and determination. There was no limit to the help and encouragement he was willing to extend to any of his loved ones to help them live a better life.
Dave was an avid fisherman who created some of his fondest memories out on the water with family and close friends. He enjoyed quality time with his loved ones, each and every one of whom he loved with every bit of his soul.
David spent his career working as a Machinist for NOV for the better part of 30+ years and, in recent years, retired and moved back home with his wife Noelani Butler to help care for his ailing mother.
Dave or Big ‘D” as some affectionately called him, lived a full life and was the kind of special man who could truly touch all those who had the privilege to know him.
Dave was born and raised in Plainview, TX and left home at just 18 in search of better job opportunities in Houston, TX. He spent the majority of his life in the Houston area where he met his former wife Patricia Garcia and her two sons Cameron and Christopher over 25 years ago. Dave was without a doubt a father to both sons and took complete ownership and pride in being the best father he could possibly be, even after the unfortunate passing of Patricia.
David spent his later years in life married to his wonderful wife Noelani Castro Butler in Plainview, TX where they spent much quality time together enjoying retired life and embracing the fruits of his labor. Noelani was an angel sent specifically for David, the two building a beautiful, warm life together full of love, laughter, and joy.
He will be deeply missed by all and we will forever hold him in our hearts.
I will be forever grateful for the impact that he made on my life, life that he provided for me and that otherwise would have not been possible. He was a God send for my life, truly changing the way it unfolded. I will hold dear all of the memories, lessons, and love that my father and I share. The legacy he left behind is the kind that will last, the kind that he can proudly hang his hat on.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the best father you never had to be.
