Obituary

Joe Louis Beaver, 83, of Abernathy, departed this earthly world and entered heaven’s gates on September 13, 2021. A private graveside will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, in Turkey, Texas. A public visitation will be held at Bartley Funeral Home on Friday, September 17, 2021, from 5-7 p.m.

Joe Beaver was born on June 21, 1938, to Elzie and Marie Beaver in Razor, Texas and grew up in Turkey, Texas. He married Catherine Mullins on October 6, 1973, in Abernathy, TX and in that union they had 8 children; Eddie, Irene, Joyleen, Mark, Chris, Sheila, Buronica, and Brad.

Joe was hard working and provided for his family as farmer and worked for the Street Department in Topeka, Kansas. He had a strong Christian faith and was a deacon for over 30 years. He had a servant’s heart and loved helping others. Joe never met a stranger and always made time to serve others. He enjoyed fishing and though he worked as a farmer, farming was one of his greatest joys.

Joe will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed but we know he is rejoicing with his Heavenly Father.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Catherine Beaver of Abernathy, Texas, his children; Eddie Joe Beaver and wife, Denise, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Irene Harris and husband, Blonzia, of Dallas, Texas, Joyleen Beaver, Mark Beaver and wife, Michelle, Chris Beaver, Sheila Glover and husband, Jimmy, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Buronica Beaver of Bethany, Oklahoma, and Brad Beaver and wife, Monica, of Wichita, Kansas, a sister; Leola Beaver of Turkey, Texas. Joe was blessed with 30 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; Elzie and Marie Beaver, a sister; Ella Oliphant, and brothers; Wilbert Beaver and Elbert Beaver.
