Obituary

Petra “Betty” Soliz Pena, 88, of Plainview, fell into the arms of her loving Savior Sunday, August 29, 2021. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 2, 2021 in the Bartley Memorial Chapel. With a visitation From 11:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Family Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Services have been entrusted to Bartley Funeral Home.

Petra Soliz was born March 29, 1933 in Winters, Texas. While growing up she had a passion for crocheting and making ceramic pottery as she did so throughout her wonderful 88 years of life. Betty married Eliseo Pena in 1949 in Ballinger, Texas. Betty was a wonderful mother and grandmother, who was loved by many. Some may also know Betty as “Mommy Dearest”. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing word search puzzles.

Those left to cherish her memories are her four sons, Eliseo Pena and wife Eva Pena of Amarillo, Rudolf Pena and wife Tina of McAllen, Richard Pena and wife Maria of Plainview, and Daniel Pena and Lisa of Plainview. Two daughters, Yolanda Pena Musquiz and husband Sergio of Plainview, Nora Pena of Plainview, and a Special Friend Henry Pequino. A host of Grandchildren, Great Grand Children and Great Great Grand Children.

She is Preceded in death by her parents and husband Eliseo Pena. Five sisters, and one daughter, Erica Pena, and two sons, Tony and Fred Pena, and one grandson, Scotty.
