Obituary
Patsy Gail Kemp Thrasher, 79, of Plainview, departed this earthly world and entered heaven’s gates on May 19, 2021. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Plainview's First Assembly of God at 11 a.m.
Gail was born on February 24th, 1942 to Lawson and Alice Kemp in Hale Center, Texas. She graduated from Hale Center High School in 1960 and attended West Texas State College. Gail married the love of her life, Clinton Thrasher, on June 3, 1962 in Hale Center. They were just 2 weeks shy of celebrating their 60th anniversary.
Gail enjoyed serving her community. She was president of PTA, president of West Texas Women’s Ministry, a volunteer for Running Water Draw RSVP, a pink lady, and a girl scout and brownie leader. She maintained the books for the family business, Thrashers Steel Buildings.
A woman of faith and the heart of the Thrasher family, Gail shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example. She instilled so many great qualities to her family and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband; Clinton Thrasher of Plainview, her children; Lisa Peterson and husband, Jody, of Silverton, Texas, Tammy Thrasher of Plainview, Scott Thrasher and wife, Christie, of Lubbock. Gail was blessed with seven grandchildren; Brandi Ziegler and husband, Trey, Chance Byers and wife, Sabrina, Zane Peterson, Kiefer Thrasher and fiancé, Cassi Infante, Meagan Thrasher, Cannon Thrasher, Justin Peterson, and 6 ½ great-grandchildren.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents; Lawson and Alice Kemp, and three brothers; Johnny Kemp, Richard Kemp, and David Kemp.
