Obituary

Yolanda G. Azua, 73 of Plainview, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, peacefully and surrounded by her family. A Viewing will be held at 12:00pm-8:00pm, with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm, Friday, July 21, 2023, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am, Saturday July 22, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Yolanda was born to Felix and Amelia Garcia on July 8, 1950, in Smiley, Texas. The family later moved to Plainview, Texas. She married Salvador P. Azua on October 16, 1971, and raised six children. They had fifty-one wonderful, blessed years. She was an exceptional mother, loving wife, and an honorable daughter.

Yolanda was a devoted mother to her children. She gave all she got to keep her family together and well taken care of. She made sure that all her children went to church and learn about God and Jesus. Yolanda instilled in her children the love for family. She was proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always thought of each one of them.

Yolanda was an amazing cook and interior decorator. She made every meal special and very savory. All the family meals were well attended, and she was an amazing hostess. Everyone felt welcomed, loved, and would leave with a full stomach. She also was an avid gardener. She absolutely had a green thumb.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Amelia Garcia, one sister, Celestina Garcia, and two brothers, Albert and Felix, Jr. Garcia.

Yolanda is survived by her husband, Salvador P. Azua; her six children: Miguel and Flor Azua, of Hale Center, Texas, Salvador G. and Yolanda Azua, Felipe and Kathlyn Azua, Ysenia and Cornelio Gentry, Angel and Monica Azua, and Elena and Paul Gonzales, all of Plainview, Texas; and her twenty five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Yolanda G. Azua, loving wife and wonderful mother will be dearly missed.
