Obituary

Ruben Salinas, 59 of Plainview, passed away on May 20, 2023. Services for Mr. Salinas will be held at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 2:00pm until 6:00pm and family will host a Visitation from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 11:00am. Cremation services are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Ruben was born in Lubbock, Texas on September 23, 1963, to Cristel Salinas and Francisca (Monreal) Salinas. He attended schools in Olton, Texas where he graduated in 1982.

Ruben loved watching football, especially the team he loved the most, the San Francisco 49ers! He also enjoyed dove hunting , being outside, grilling and especially fishing; he could fish all day. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cristel, and Francisca Salinas.

He is survived by his spouse, Blanca Peña; his sons: Jeremy Salinas and wife Crystal of Lubbock, Frankie Peña and wife Amanda, of Minnesota, and Eloy Peña, Jr. and wife Sonia of Plainview; his daughters: Priscilla Salinas and Mikaela Salinas both of Lubbock and Amanda Peña of Plainview; his brothers Roberto Salinas, Rodolfo Salinas, Rafael Salinas and Cristoval Salinas; his sister, Diane S. Castillo; his twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
