Obituary

Eugenio Cuellar, 69 of Plainview, Texas, passed away on Friday April 7, 2023. The family of Mr. Cuellar will have a viewing from 1pm - 4pm, with a prayer service beginning at 1:00pm on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Cremation service arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Eugenio was born on September 12, 1953, to Hilario Cuellar and Petra Gonzales in Ganado, Texas. Eugenio “Gene” was a United States Marine Corp Veteran who enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and croquet. He was also a big fan of wrestling. He worked 10+ years at United Farm Industries before retiring.

Those left to cherish his memory and keep his legacy alive are his children, Christina LaFuente and husband Edward of Sweetwater, Texas, James Cuellar of Plainview, Texas, three brothers: Hilario Cuellar Jr and Anna Gutierrez of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Ricardo Cuellar and his wife Dominga of Lockney, Texas, and Israel Cuellar of Lockney, Texas, two sisters: MaryAnn Pedroza of Plainview, Texas, and Esther Bloss of Lubbock, Texas, five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Eugenio is preceded in death by his parents, Hilario, and Petra Cuellar; two brothers: Lorenzo and Vicente Cuellar; and two sisters: Teresa Romero and Juanita Rodriguez.
