Obituary

Ted Teeter, 68, of Olton and formerly of Abernathy, passed from this life on Monday, February 13, 2023, in Plainview, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the First Church of the Nazarene, in Abernathy, with Rev. Barry Tilley and Rev. Kerry Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F. Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. A family visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2023, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Theodore Ray Teeter was born January 10, 1955, in Russellville, Arkansas, to T.N. Jr. and Frances (Harris) Teeter. He graduated from Abernathy High School in 1973 and married his high school sweetheart, Louise DeLowe, on August 10, 1973. For almost 50 years, Ted and Louise were inseparable and relied on each for everything. Ted was actively involved at the First Assembly of God Church in Abernathy where he served as a stand-in pastor when needed. In 1993, Ted answered God's call to be a full time minister. He moved to Olton and for the next 29 years was the minister at the First Assembly of God Church. Along with being the minister, Ted loved the fellowship of the many church activities including the Ring Toss at Olton's yearly Sandhill's Celebration.

A very giving and loving person, Ted responded to God's call to help anyone in need. He was known for his generosity and caring towards everyone. Ted had a wonderful personality. He loved to joke and play pranks on friends and family alike. Playing card games, board games, and volleyball at church get togethers were special times for Ted. Family was especially important to Ted. He enjoyed family gatherings and taking family vacations. Fireworks with the grandchildren and teasing the kids when the Cowboys lost were two of his favorite activities. Gone too soon, Ted will be missed dearly by all.

Ted was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. John and Flo Harris and T.N. Sr. and Girthel Teeter, his parents, T.N. Jr. and Frances Teeter, a daughter, Sheila Teeter, a granddaughter, Marissa Teeter, a brother, Danny Teeter, and a sister, Kathy Vannoy.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Teeter of Olton, three sons, Michael Teeter of Olton, Mark Teeter and wife Mary of Olton, and Matthew Teeter and wife Juanita of Olton, his daughter, Michelle Casares and husband Luis of Abernathy, and three sisters, his twin sister, Teresa Ambrose of Abernathy, Joyce Teeter of Abernathy, and Judy Tilley of Lubbock. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Anthony and Clarissa, Cassie, Melanie, Kaylea, Tyler, Daisy, Lisa Marie, Kyla, Madysen, Audrey, Sadie, Zayley, Sawyer and two great-grandchildren: Sabrilee and Alexander.
