Obituary

Bernardino "Nino" Reyes, 77 of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Visitation for Mr. Reyes will be at 2:00pm, followed by a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00pm, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview, officiated by Father George Poonely. Burial will follow in Cotton Center Cemetery. Funeral Services are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Nino was born to Bernardino Reyes Sr. and Tomasa Reyes on April 7, 1945. He married Maria Montemayor on November 25, 1964 in Hale Center at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Nino was a welder and fabricator for 45 years before he retired. Nino was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview, Texas.

Nino had many hobbies that included coaching t-ball in Cotton Center and Plainview. He loved his garden where he grew various fruits and vegetables. His grandchildren loved to pick the peaches off of his tree. But most of all he loved his lottos. He made sure to go and get his powerball ticket any chance he got. He loved getting up in the mornings and going to McDonalds to drink his coffee and talk with his friends. If you knew Nino you knew he loved to get on Facebook and Tik Tok with the volume on LOUD. Nino was loved by many and will be missed tremendously. Above all he loved his children and grandchildren.

Nino is preceded in death by his parents, Bernardino Reyes Sr. and Tomasa Reyes; one son, Bernardino Reyes III; one daughter, Angie Galvan; two brothers, Jose Angel Reyes and Ramiro Reyes; and two sisters, Romanita Reyes and Yolanda Hernandez

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Maria Reyes; two sons, Ricardo Reyes and Rolando Reyes; one daughter, Rebecca Reyes; one brother, Epifanio Reyes; three sisters, Mary Gomez (Sabino), Jovita Morales (Edward) and Sandy Rosales (Victor); four brothers-in-law, Reynaldo Montemayor (Rita), Jimmy Montemayor (Margaret), Pedro Montemayor (Alicia) and Richard Montemayor (Lavonda), one sister in law, Ofelia Gomez; 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren with 2 on the way and his beloved pet Bootsie Reyes.
