Obituary

Brenda Sue Hearn, 65, of Plainview passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Happy Union Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the funeral home.

Brenda was born on September 11, 1957 in Plainview, Texas to James & Virginia Hearn. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1976. She attended West Texas State University and Wayland Baptist University. Brenda worked for Roger Lowe at Jolly Roger’s Convenience Store for several years. She later worked for Plainview Independent School District for over twenty-five years. She retired from Plainview Independent School District on January 26, 2023. Brenda gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a lifetime member of Happy Union Baptist Church. Brenda was a member of the Royal Priesthood and orchestrated their music on Sunday’s. Brenda was a great friend to many.

She was preceded in death by parents, a niece, Carolyn Johnson and a nephew, Jason Hearn.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memory three sisters, Linda Johnson, Peggy McKelvy and Lillie Hearn; two brothers, James Hearn (Mary) and Randy Hearn (Carolyn); two nephews Michael Johnson and Jarron Hearn; a great niece Reagan Hall; a special nephew Ryan Byers; four aunts, Ruby Hearn, Rhodie Steward (Herbert), Sharon Wade and Patsy Ridge (Jimmy) and one uncle Donald Whitten (Gladys).
