Albert Chapa, Sr., 79 of Plainview, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A graveside will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2023, in Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Albert was born on January 23, 1944 in Alice, Texas to Cristobal & Esperanza (Jimenez) Chapa.
He married Heladia Galvan on December 11, 1961.
Albert was very proud of his commitment to hard work. He worked as a mechanic for many years at T&J Automotive, Doug’s Automotive for 18 years and 16 years at Holley Fertilizer.
Albert had a passion for hunting, fishing, Rodeos, watching western movies and the Dallas Cowboys.
He loved spending time at the barn with his family enjoying a big ribeye, a cold beer, and listening to music.
Albert especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He left his impact on those he met throughout his life with his humorous, unselfish, infectious personality.

Albert is survived by his wife Loy Chapa of Plainview, and his children: daughters Brenda (Chapa) Garcia, Gilda Chapa and Jessica (Chapa) Sanchez and husband Gilbert, sons Michael Chapa and wife Diane, and Jerry Chapa and wife Dora. Daughter-in-law, Doris Chapa. Grandchildren, Valarie Espinosa, Hunter Sanchez, Karly TerHark, Myles Sanchez, Kristen Chapa, Josh Chapa, Abbie Chapa, Megan Rodriguez, Mikka Chapa, Senaida Hinojos, Zach Cedillo, Julissa Chapa, Maria Villarreal, Casey and Anthony Berumen. Great grandchildren, Skylar, Brennon, Matthew, Morgan, Jordan, Kalissa, John, Mason, Maliyah, Mila, Ransom, Ryland, Cali, Nallely, J’Nessa, Jayten, and Haidyn.
His brothers Ruben and Bonnie Chapa, Christobal and Flora Chapa, Robert (Veto) and Maria Chapa, Mike and Olga Chapa, George and Mary Chapa, Tony and Thelma Chapa, and Jeff and Brenda Chapa. His sister, Olga and Pete Sarabia.

He is preceded in death by a son, Albert Chapa, Jr, grandsons, John Abel Espinosa, Jacob Chapa, and Joseph Chapa, brother, Alfredo Chapa, and sisters, Virginia Villarreal and Viola Esquivel.
